In this programme we dive Ponta do Ouro, located less than 200 km south of Maputo and Praia do Tofo, about 500 km north of the capital. We recommend this combination between the months of December and May, as this is a good time to see the much sought after sharks at Ponta (up to 6 different species can be seen on a single dive).
Up to 19 different species of sharks have been identified at this location!
We propose a couple of days of diving at the first destination, and on the fourth day we leave for the north of the country.
The distance between the two destinations is about 10 hours by road, so we spend a night halfway at the fabulous Naara Lodge in Chidenguele.
Once we arrive at the second destination, Praia do Tofo, we spend a week diving the shallows, where encounters with manta rays at the cleaning stations and whale sharks feeding on the surface are common.
Where to fly
We recommend flying to Maputo with the airline TAP, Emirates, Qatar, or Turkish. Once in Maputo, we will come to pick you up and in less than two hours we will be at the first destination.
For the return flight we recommend flying with the local airline Linhas Aéreas de Moçambique (LAM) from Inhambane to Maputo, where you will spend one last night before flying to your home destination.
We can adjust the itinerary according to your flexibility and preferences.
From your arrival in Africa until your departure, we will always be by your side to accompany you in this experience.
Day 1
ARRIVAL TO MOZAMBIQUE
Arrival at Maputo International Airport (Mozambique), where we will be waiting for you. Transfer by road to Ponta do Ouro, approximately 2 hours.
On arrival we will check in at the dive centre and accommodation.
Free afternoon to visit the village of Ponta do Ouro and Ponta Malongane.
Dinner, which is not included, can be arranged at the accommodation or at a restaurant in the village.
Day 2 to day 3
DIVING PONTA DO OURO
Daily breakfasts at the accommodation.
Transfers to the dive centre. We will do 2 dives daily in the morning, with an optional third dive in the afternoon or another activity.
Lunches and dinners are not included, and will be at the accommodation or in restaurants in the village.

Day 4
PONTA DO OURO & TRANSFER TO CHIDENGUELE
Breakfast at the accommodation.
Morning for relaxation or snorkelling before departing for the next destination.
Lunch, which is not included, will be at Ponta do Ouro before departure, and then transfer by road to Chidenguele, approximately 6 hours.
On arrival we will check in at the lodge and have time to relax before dinner at the lodge restaurant (not included).
Day 5
TRANSFER TO TOFO
Breakfast at the accommodation. Morning at leisure to rest or do some activities at Inhampavala Lagoon.
Preferably lunch before departure (not included), and then transfer to Praia do Tofo, approximately 4 hours.
Arrival in the afternoon, check in at the accommodation and at the dive centre. Free afternoon to visit the fishing village of Tofo and the neighbouring Praia da Barra.
Dinner, which is not included, can be arranged at the accommodation or at a restaurant in the village.
Day 6 to day 10
DIVING IN TOFO
Daily breakfasts at the accommodation. Transfers to the dive centre, when necessary. We will do 2 dives per day in the morning, with an optional third dive in the afternoon or another activity.
Lunches and dinners are not included, and will be at the accommodation or in the village restaurants.

Day 11
DAY OF RELAX
Breakfast at accommodation. Free day without diving.
Relaxation day or optional extra activities: boat trip to swim with whale sharks, dolphins and manta rays, whale watching excursion (July - November), excursion to Inhambane estuary to look for flamingos and snorkel with seahorses, kayaking excursion, sailing or catamaran trip, visit to the islands in the bay, surfing, kitesurfing and stand-up paddle, quad bike trip, visits to local villages, guided cultural excursion, massages and relaxation....
Day 12
TRANSFER TO MAPUTO
Breakfast at accommodation. Morning at leisure.
Transfer by road to Inhambane Airport (20 min). Flight with LAM from Inhambane to Maputo (not included).
Pick up at Maputo Airport and transfer to accommodation.
Dinner, which is not included, can be arranged at the accommodation or at a restaurant in Maputo City.
Day 13
DEPARTURE

Transfer to Maputo Airport (15 min).
