Imagine sleeping in a tent next to the Ndhlovu waterhole where herds of elephant and buffalo come daily to cool off, and where you can witness it first hand.
If you can afford at least two weeks of travel, we recommend this new combination we have just created. To the Kruger game drive and Tofo dive programme we have added three more days of game drives in the Pridelands Conservation Area, situated within the Balule Nature Reserve.
This private concession is fully open and connected to the Kruger National Park and animals roam freely crossing back and forth.
It is here that we trained as safari field guides, and the encounters with animal life couldn't be more authentic and up close!!!!
After the safari days in Pridelands, we will spend three more nights inside the Kruger National Park en route from the Orpen area southwards, staying in different camps, and getting to know the diversity of wildlife that the Park has to offer.
On the last scheduled day of the overland safari we will depart in the morning, then cross the border into Mozambique and head towards the coast of Mozambique, where we will spend a couple of nights at the fabulous Naara Lodge in Chidenguele.
Here, kayaks and canoes will allow us to explore the fabulous Lake Inhampavala.
The next day, after having 'recharged our batteries', we will head to Praia do Tofo to dive in what we like to call the sea of encounters, where whales, whale sharks, reef and oceanic sharks, rays, sea turtles, dolphins and endless species of tropical fish await us.
Where to fly
We recommend flying into Hoedspruit Airport in South Africa via Johannesburg with Airlink or CemAir. This airport is located about 15 minutes away from Pridelands.
For the return flight the local airline Linhas Aéreas de Moçambique (LAM) and Airlink fly from Inhambane/ Vilanculos to Johannesburg.
Depending on the international air connections, it is sometimes necessary to spend the night in Johannesburg.
We can adjust the itinerary according to your flexibility and preferences.
From your arrival on African soil until your departure, we will always be at your side to accompany you on this experience.
Day 1
ARRIVAL AT PRIDELANDS

Arrival at Hoedspruit Airport (South Africa).
-
We will be waiting for you there, and after the necessary formalities at the airport, we will drive to Pridelands, approximately 15 minutes away.
-
On arrival we will check into camp and tents, have a light lunch, and depart on the first afternoon game drive of approximately 4 hours' duration.

Back at the camp, dinner will be waiting for us.
Day 2 to day 3
PRIDELANDS PRIVATE CONCESSION

The days start early, we have a first breakfast in the camp before leaving for the first safari of the day, which usually lasts approximately 4 hours in an open vehicle. We return to the camp around 9 in the morning, where a full breakfast awaits us.

The rest of the morning we rest or organize an outing on foot until lunchtime.

The afternoon safari usually starts around 3:00 p.m. until nightfall, when we return to the camp before dinner.

Day 4
TRANSFER TO KRUGER NATIONAL PARK

The first light breakfast will be at the camp half an hour before the morning game drive, which will last approximately 4 hours.

On our return to camp we have breakfast and transfer to the public part of the Kruger National Park, entering through the Orpen Gate, which is approximately 1 hour from Pridelands.

Once inside the park we will take an afternoon game drive to the camp where we will spend the night.

On arrival at the camp we will check into the bungalows and have dinner at the camp restaurant (not included).
Day 5 to day 6
SAFARI IN KRUGER NATIONAL PARK

Daily breakfasts early in the morning half an hour before the opening of the camp.
-
We will do 2 full days safari in the Kruger National Park (land of the Big 5) where we explore the huge area from the south of the Park towards the Shingwedzi River area to the north.
-
During the day we will make several stops at picnic areas and rest areas.
-
We will continue most of the day until we reach the next camp where we will spend the night.
-
The dinners, which are not included, will be in the restaurants of the camps or we will prepare a barbecue.

The optional activities that we can organize are the early departures on foot, or the night safari.

Day 7
KRUGER NATIONAL PARK - CHIDENGUELE

We will have breakfast half an hour before the opening of the camp.
-
Then we will do a safari in the tomorrow. Before noon we will leave the Park, and we will move to the next destination, Praia de Chidenguele, about 8 hours away crossing the Komatipoort/ Ressano Garcia border.

Lunch, which is not included, will be en route. Upon arrival we will check in at the accommodation, and dinner will be waiting for us in the accommodation restaurant (not included).
Day 8
CHIDENGUELE - LAKE INHAMPAVALA
-
First coffee/tea in the tent and then breakfast.
-
Free day to relax or practice activities at Inhampavala Lagoon.
-
Activities included: kayaking, stand up paddle, canoeing, board games, billiards. Activities not included: motorized activities in the lagoon (boat trip on the lagoon, wakeboarding...).

Lunch and dinner at the accommodation (not included).
-
Accommodation in luxury tents overlooking the lagoon.
Day 9
ARRIVAL AT PRAIA DO TOFO

Breakfast at the accommodation.

Morning off to rest or do some activity in the Inhampavala Lagoon.

Preferably we will have lunch before leaving (not included), and later we will move to Praia do Tofo, approximately 4 hours.

Late arrival at destination, we will check in at the accommodation and at the diving center.

Afternoon free to visit the fishing village of Tofo and the neighboring Praia da Barra.

Dinner, which is not included, can be arranged at the accommodation or at a restaurant in town.

Day 10 to day 14
DIVING IN TOFO

Daily breakfasts at the accommodation.

Transfers to the diving center, when necessary.

We will do 2 daily dives in the morning, with an optional third in the afternoon or another activity.

Lunches and dinners are not included, and will be in the accommodation or in the restaurants of the town.

Day 15
DAY OFF RELAX

Day off diving. Relaxing day or optional extra activities: boat trip to swim with whale sharks, dolphins and Mantas, excursion to see the whales (July - November), excursion to the Inhambane estuary to look for flamingos and snorkel with seahorses, excursion kayaking, sailing or catamaran rides, visits to the islands in the bay, surfing, kitesurfing and stand-up paddle, quad biking, visits to local villages, guided cultural excursions, massages and relaxation...
Day 16

• 50% deposit required to confirm the booking of the Experience, and remaining 50% to be paid 60 days prior to arrival • All payments done by providing bank card details will carry an extra 5% (bank fees) • All payments done through PayPal will carry an extra 5% • All payments done by bank transfers to be done using “banking our instructions” (client pays all bank transfer charges) • By paying the deposit you are deemed to have accepted our terms & conditions • Cancellations before 60 days prior to arrival will incur a cancellation fee of 50% of total booking amount (during local public holidays will incur a cancellation fee of 100% of total booking amount) • Cancellations after 60 days prior to arrival will incur a cancellation fee of 100% of total booking amount • Dive trips being cancelled due to bad weather not refundable • If as a result of a major force, such as the current pandemic caused by Covid-19 the trip cannot be made on the scheduled dates, the amount paid is not refundable and the trip will be rescheduled for other dates in accordance with the availability of the client and Mozambique Experience •
During the stay on the land safari we stay in the camps offered by the Kruger National Park. They all have bungalows with capacities from 1 to 4 people, private bathrooms, electricity, barbecue, private and/or community kitchen, laundry, first aid center, shop, restaurant and cafeteria.
Depending on the budget, we can opt for the option of staying in 'huts', which are smaller bungalows with a shared bathroom.
The rest are the options we have to stay between Chidenguele and Praia do Tofo.
All of these include en-suite rooms with the possibility of a double bed or separate beds, cleaning service, Wi-fi, 24-hour security, and some with a swimming pool, bar and restaurant.
