Passport Requirements
Before anything else, please ensure:

Your passport is valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended date of entry.

You have at least 3 blank pages in your passport, two of which must be side by side for visa and entry stamps.
Visa Options for Tourists
Mozambique offers three main visa options for tourists, depending on your nationality and travel plans:
1. Embassy Visa (Recommended for Most Travelers)
We recommend all travelers secure a tourist visa in advance through a Mozambican embassy or consulate in their home country.

Processing time: Usually 5–10 business days (varies).

Requirements: Application form, passport photo, confirmed itinerary or accommodation, and visa fee.

Best for: Travelers who want full peace of mind before departure.

2. Visa on Arrival (Available, but Not Guaranteed)
Mozambique does technically offer a visa on arrival at major airports and some land borders, but it’s important to understand the risks:

Not available to all nationalities – some travelers may be denied entry without a pre-approved visa.

Subject to change without notice – local authorities may enforce rules inconsistently.

Additional documentation may be required at the border, such as proof of accommodation or return flight.
> Our advice: If you choose this route, bring printed documents (hotel booking, flight itinerary, etc.) and prepare for possible delays. Only attempt this if you're coming from a country that is clearly eligible and you’re comfortable with the risk.
3. Mozambique eVisa (New Option)
Mozambique has recently introduced an eVisa system, which allows travelers to apply online before arrival.

Processing time: Usually 3–7 business days.

Payment: Online via credit card or other accepted methods.

Documents required: Passport scan, photo, itinerary/accommodation.
> This is a convenient alternative to embassy visits, but we still recommend applying well in advance in case of system delays.
Our Recommendation
While visa on arrival and eVisas are convenient options for some, we strongly recommend securing your visa before your trip if possible — either through an embassy or the official eVisa portal, to avoid surprises at the border.
